Inquisitive Ellis asks"There’s a frog in my throat?" eBook Julianne Wells Fran Hughes Reviews
Love Love Loved this book. My daughter recently had a "frog in her throat" a week or so ago and I read this to her again and while she is still too young to understand the concept, it certainly helped and gave her a few laughs. Love the pictures and the intelligence behind teaching young ones about understanding the figurative manner of speaking. A must read for children!
The first in a planned series of books that helps teach children about figurative phrases that we adults understand, but children haven't yet figured out. A great addition to a child's bedtime reading collection, pediatrician's office, or classroom. Hopefully more to come very soon!
I just finished Inquisitive Ellis and loved it! What a very creative idea. From an educational point, I thought the text matched the illustrations well and the story was very realistic and engaging. I love the medical tie in. A child's understanding of figurative language follows an interesting developmental progression and this story will help them .

I loved the book and as a former teacher, I could see wide application with young children. The text was easily understood and had a good match with the illustrations. I also think this is a good book to use with students that have English as a second language. I'm looking forward to the second installment.
My second grader had to write a book report and I had to find a book to read. This book had many characters in it and it explains things to a child that they can understand. It kept his attention for a long time and he had fun listening to the story.
I loved it and really liked the illustrations and the actual explanation of a "frog in your throat". I can't wait to buy it in hard back!
Ellis has "a frog in his throat"... This kid naturally has questions and receives answers figuratively.
Read it and like me find out the myths and medical reasons for having a frog in ones throat. Great Teaching Aid!
